A 3 star read

Laurel Hasara has a unique way of telling a story to her readers. Her style of writing is poetic and mysterious, and unlike anything I’ve ever read. The reader is presented with a woman haunted by a strange premonition and a man trying to seek redemption from his dark past. Their interactions are strained by their troubles, and the whole setting is shrouded in darkness and misery. Their encounter with six neglected youths adds to the darkness which is their lives.

I don’t think this novella is for everyone. The characters are not named, but for me this only added to their status of being “nobodies”. In the end I enjoyed reading this novella, but was searching for just a bit more.

Thank you to the author for the review copy.
